Mom's Bouille and Angel Food Cake

Ingredients:
2 cups cold water
2 cups evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
½ cup corn starch
¼ tsp salt
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Directions:
Mix water, milk, sugar, and corn starch and heat on medium fire
until it begins to boil. Take off fire. Crack and separate four
egg yolks. Pour several spoons of hot custard into egg yolks
while whisking. Add egg mixture to custard with vanilla and heat
until boiling (one minute). Remove from heat. Pour mixture over
cut angel food cake in large serving bowl. Cool before serving.
